Gift Aid declaration
Make your gift worth 25% more.
If you pay UK tax, one declaration lets Salam Centre claim an extra 25p from HMRC for every £1 you give — on your donations from the past 4 years and every gift from now on. It costs you nothing.
What it means
- You give
- £100
- We claim from HMRC
- + £25
- Salam Centre receives
- £125
At no extra cost to you. Your donation stays exactly the same.
Before you start
Can I add Gift Aid?
Yes, if
- You pay UK Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax.
- In each tax year, the tax you pay is at least the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations, to every charity.
- The money is your own.
It can't be added to
- Money from a business, or collected from other people.
- Payments where you get something back, such as tickets, raffles, food or event entry.
- Donations if you don't pay enough UK tax — please don't add Gift Aid in that case.
Your declaration
Four short steps.
Good to know
Common questions.
No. Gift Aid comes from tax you have already paid. For every £1 you give, Salam Centre can claim 25p from HMRC at no extra cost to you.
Your donations to Salam Centre from the past 4 years, and any you make in the future, until you tell us to stop. You only need to make one declaration.
Let us know and we'll stop claiming Gift Aid on your future gifts. If you pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax in a tax year than the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations, it is your responsibility to pay any difference.
You can claim extra tax relief on your donations by including them on your Self Assessment tax return, or by asking HMRC to adjust your tax code.
Each person who gives should make their own declaration, so every donor is recorded under their own name and address.
Email us at any time if you want to cancel, change your name or home address, or if you no longer pay enough tax. Cancelling doesn't affect gifts you've already made.
